I don’t know about you but nothing makes me crazier than to pick up a book that is NOT a romance and have a half naked woman on the cover! This is an especially disturbing trend on fantasy and science fiction books where the heroine is posed on the cover like a fanboy’s wet dream. Not that I’m against the sexy… I just don’t buy that a sword wielding, magic throwing, über-chick is going to be running around killing the bad guys with no clothes on.

Call me crazy.

That’s why I like this cover so much. Sorcha Faris is fully clothed and still looks bad*ss! And I just HAD to know what was up with the giant lion… it is definitely not what I thought!

It takes a few pages to get into but once it gets going it’s a pretty fun ride. Pick this up if you’re a fan of Garth Nix’s Abhorsen Trilogy; there are some similarities here but with a definitely adult angle. Hope you enjoy it as much as I am!
