Zombies fall in love… I didn’t know they did that. I thought they shuffled, moaned, and ate brains. Guess I was wrong.

I’m not much for war novels or war films or war… But this cover? I know my hands would gravitate of their own free will to pick it up and at least see what I might be getting into. I’d put it back down when I read the dust jacket and found out that it’s about a real life mission during World War II to assissinate a high ranking SS officer. Not my cup of tea… But that cover!

I like the crazy craft punch cover. The paper flames are laid out in orderly rows though, with the title and author tags tucked in just so. Creepy. Fitting for a book about an epidemic: children speak and their parents die. I really, really want to read this one.

Simple and graphic. I’m intrigued…

This is the third book in Elizabeth Bear’s Jacob’s Ladder Trilogy. It seems this is a week of discovering sequels or new books by authors I love. I own and enjoyed the previous books in this series: Dust and Chill. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on this latest entry.

I just found out today that Haruki Murakami has a new book out. I’m a few months late to the party on this one but I’m glad I found out about it. This guy is, hands down, my favorite writer of all time and I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into it.

There is some controversy over a review of this book… I didn’t realize that when I picked it out for it’s cover. I see some similarities to the Bad Marie cover… That’s probably why I like it. The picture seems to tell a story in itself.
